prepifi.ai ("we", "our", "us") is an AI-powered study companion for IT certification exams. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service at prepifi.ai.

Account Information

When you create an account, authentication is handled by our third-party provider, Clerk. This may include your email address, name, and profile information depending on how you sign up (email, Google, etc.). We do not store your password.

Study Data (Stored Locally)

Your study progress and activity data is stored entirely in your browser's local storage — it never leaves your device. This includes:

  • Study progress and session history
  • Practice exam results (last 50 exams retained)
  • Flashcard review progress and difficulty scores
  • Study planner task completions (auto-cleaned after 30 days)
  • Your selected certification preference

AI Chat Messages

When you use our AI study assistant, your messages are sent to OpenAI for processing. These messages are used solely to generate responses and are not stored on our servers.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and personalize your study experience based on your selected certification
  • Generate AI-powered practice questions, explanations, and study assistance
  • Track your study progress and performance analytics
  • Authenticate your account and maintain your session

Data Storage

All of your study data — including progress, exam results, flashcard scores, and planner completions — is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage. We do not have a backend database that stores your study activity. This means your data stays on your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.

We use only essential cookies required for authentication through Clerk. We do not use analytics cookies, tracking pixels, or any third-party advertising cookies.

Your Rights & Control

Since your study data is stored locally in your browser, you have full control over it:

  • Clear your browser's local storage to delete all study data at any time
  • Delete your account through Clerk to remove your authentication data
  • No data deletion request to us is necessary — we don't store your study data on our servers

Children's Privacy

prepifi.ai is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
